Twite bring in the winter

I was out and about yesterday in the misty wet rain and got as far as Clahane near Liscannor Bay.  There were over 50 Rock Pipits feeding the roadside on high tide and a small mixed flock of finches with three lovely Twite among'st them.  Here are a few shots of the birds that I took out the window of the car in the miserable conditions.

Twite

A small flock of eight Twite arrived at the tip of Loop Head Lighthouse early this morning.  A true sign that Autumn has passed and winter has arrived.

Twite

I was back at Loop early this morning still trying to pull a decent bird out of the bag.  There were some migrants on the headland including a small flock of nine Twite near the tip of the headland along with fifteen Snow Bunting, a Merlin and one Peregrine.
