On the 13th February this bird was observed at Nimmo's Pier, Galway and thought to be a third-winter Caspian Gull due to the fact that it had a long pale looking bill and dark eye. I managed to catch up with this gull on Friday 25th February at the slipway near Nimmo's Pier. To me it is looks similar to Caspian Gull with the clean head, small beady dark eye but other than that the bill and overall appearance look slightly wrong for Caspian. Any comments would be great.
