I went back to Beale Beach in North Kerry yesterday afternoon 19th September to try and get better views and better shots of the Elegant Tern that I saw there the previous Tuesday. Unfortunately the bird made a brief appearance in the morning but no show in the afternoon.There was one juvenile Black Tern out in the bay along with two Arctic Skuas and two juvenile Little gulls were on the beach with the Sandwich Terns and one Little Stint. Three Red-throated Divers in summer plumage fed close to the sandy spit along the beach.
