Ring-necked Duck

On 13th of January this first-winter male Ring-necked Duck turned up at Lough Gash, Newmarket-on-Fergus a small lake close to where I live.  This bird is the third record of this species for this tiny little Turlough.  The bird was still present on the 14th and 15th January and is probably the same individual as that found at Ballyallia Lake, Ennis late in 2010.
