Red-backed Shrike

I rushed down to Wexford yesterday evening after work to see the male Red-backed Shrike that was found in Lingstown.  By the time I got there a few people had gathered to see it.  The sun had dropped nicely and the strong heat haze of the earlier part of the day had cleared. It made a nice change to seen an adult summer bird in Ireland, as most that turn up here are scruffy juveniles in Autumn.

  1. Ooo very nice Murf, the first bird I ever twitched, back home in Yorkshire. I had to wait 6 hours for him to show but definitely worth the wait! Damned handsome fellas these birds are.
