Bearded Reedling

After visiting Lady's Island Lake in Wexford last Saturday, we headed for Tacumschin where we eventually managed to see the Glossy Ibis, some Little Gulls and at Linkstown and the White Hole, we saw up to ten Bearded Readlings along with Marsh Harrier.  I remember over 20 years ago coming down to Wexford and over to Broad Lough in Wicklow to searching for these elusive and rare Irish breeding birds.  The photos above were taken two winters ago when these cute little fellows re-appeared in Tacumschin after a long absents. All on our outing last Saturday 7th July got views of the birds in the east side of this vast lake.
